ALL you need is LOVE
All you need is love: Precisely 52 years ago, on the day of the opening of the exhibition on June 30 in 1967 this famous Beatles song was released. In addition to the Marseillaise, the producer had musical quotes incorporated in the introduction, e.g. an invention by Johann Sebastian Bach, the English folk song Greensleeves and Glenn Miller's The Mood to substantiate the universal claim of the text. All that man needs to live and survive is love. However simple the message seems, so complex and multifaceted though is that what is understood then and now under the word LOVE ... This is shown by the works of the artists who assemble here in the exhibition.

From Bettina Moras' self-assured painterly statement, which flings motherhood as a hot-blooded existential decision for the life after love against the mild media-kitsch, to the erotic seduction of a slice of delicious cake by Pavel Feinstein; from Rainer Ehrt's dynastic "copulation" of the great Elector with his wife Luise Henriette of Orange, who both led a thoroughly happy and exemplary marriage, to the sensitive, everyday observations that Susanne Kraißer captures in the behavior of loving couples; from the subtle circling around that what makes up the different dimensions of love, as we can discover with Vanessa von Wendt, to the winking and for loving attention begging glances of the wooden sculptures of Peer Oliver Nau.

And so it is not only the love a priori that will captivate the viewer, but also the love of the artists for their subject and their craft. Because without love, this would be loosley based on the biblical Song of Songs a "resounding gong" and a "noisy timbal".
