 " B E I N G S - W E S E N "

The exhibition “Beings”, planned last year, proves strangely enough to be a commentary on what we experience at that time.

We are thrown back on ourselves in a previously unknown way. We experience our being as something creatural, like all beings that inhabit this earth.

The essence of our existence, the beings that populate our dreams and fears, that inner being that clearly crystallizes out of each of us ... life for and in itself stands before us as a great riddle and a great question.

The understanding of the nature of the hermit and his opposite pole, the bon vivant, suddenly becomes selective. Somewhere in between we find ourselves as social beings who long for touch and distance, for being seen and camouflaged, for conversation and silence, for retreat and spending.

For Grita Götze (born 1959), Christoph Löffler (born 1966) and Susanne Kraißer (born 1977), three artists who have been associated with the gallery for years, the search for the essence of external appearances and the search for an expression for inner states of being is situated again and again in the center of their artistic work.
